IMPORTANT NOTICE – ATC Software Supply Changes For 2014
As mentioned at the Engage distributor update on 4th February, Autodesk Education is delighted to announce that we will be supplying software to ATCs, from 2014 versions onwards, through the Autodesk Subscription Center. This will replace the current Partner Portal download center and the ATC serial numbers used for software provision.
The change will enable us to add subscription benefits to the software supplied to the ATCs, such as A360 (Cloud) services, and easier access to all the additional services provided through the Subscription Center. Also it will replace the current manually managed serial number processes by automating serial number generation and distribution, and provision of updates and new versions. The new process will be driven by the distributors controlling the software supplied to the ATCs, by placing orders for products on subscription for all ATCs in Partner Center. This will also automate the provision of new versions and updates with minimal further involvement on the part of the distributors or ATCs.
We expect the service to be ready for the release of the first 2014 products in the March/April timeframe. Please note that existing ATC serial numbers will NOT be updated to support 2014 software, but they will remain active for existing versions.
We will be providing you with announcement materials and an FAQ to support communications to the ATCs, and in the next 2 weeks we will be issuing detailed information, instructions and guidance, and training on how to prepare for this change.
You may discuss this change with ATCs as needed, but please do not forward this communication, as we will be providing communications templates targeted for ATCs.
