Academic Partner Locator - Update

Autodesk Education is pleased to announce the launch of a project to develop the first phase of a new Academic Partner Locator. This Locator will be made available in early May 2014, and will provide our academic customers on the ARC or the Education Community web sites with a way to find an Academic Partner.

This Academic Partner Locator will use partner data in PDB, and will require our distributors to ensure that:
- all partners who sign up for the Academic Partner Program are registered in PDB as Academic Partners.
- all partner name, address, email, phone and web URL data are correct in PDB; this data will be used to populate the Locator search results.

To do this, the Academic Partner Locator project consists of 3 main components:

  1. an update to PDB to allow the distributor to add a new Academic Partner “partner type” to the site record (this can be selected independently of the ATC partner type).
  2. a separate web page for the customer to access and search for a partner.
  3. on ARC and on the Education Community, a page of information about academic partners with a link to the Locator search page.

ACTION REQUIRED:

To help you prepare for this new Locator, please do the following NOW:

- ensure that the site details for all academic partners are up to date and accurate, especially

  • the name of the site in the correct local language, so that it will appear correctly on the Locator (use “English Site Name” in PDB to record the English equivalent)
  • the site email address (we will use the site email, not the ATC manager’s email, so please ensure the site email is not set to the same as the ATC manager’s personal email address)
  • the site email phone number (we will use the site number as it is shown in PDB, so please ensure the site number is not set to what you want to appear on the Locator search results page)
  • the site website URL; please ensure it is correct and tested
  • for an ACC certification center, please ensure the partner type “Certification Site” is set to active

- add in PDB a site attribute “A3P (FY13) and Academic ATC (FY14)” for each site that is signed up to Academic Partner program; this will be converted automatically to an Academic Partner type when it is turned on.

Before the Locator is launched, we will also send further information about the Locator, so that you can communicate this to the Academic Partners.

Thank you in advance for your support in helping us get prepared for this important Academic Partner Program update.
