About the course:

This course is taught by Libby Falck, a K 12 design thinking curriculum expert, entrepreneur, designer and media artist working to educate a generation of changemakers.

This beginner-level course offers a hands on experience in design thinking. Video lectures introduce the design thinking mindset and exercises used by leading designers around the world. The bulk of the course experience takes place away from the computer as you complete 17 activities with people in your school, company, or local community addressing the social impact challenge: How might we reduce the use of single use plastics in our community.

Course activities align to the phases of the design thinking process: understand, define, ideate, prototype, and refine. The prototype phase incorporates challenges assignments introducing users to both Tinkercad and Fusion 360 as digital prototyping solutions. No prior experience required.

This course is ideal for anyone interested in learning or teaching the design thinking process through fun and engaging activities anchored in social impact.
