NOW AVAILABLE: CAD & Digital Manufacturing Specialization published on Coursera
We’re happy to announce that the first two courses in the CAD & Digital Manufacturing Specialization are now available on Coursera.
Course 1: Intro to Digital Manufacturing with Autodesk Fusion 360
Course 2: Autodesk Fusion 360 Integrated CAD/CAM/CAE
Coursera is one of the largest, most successful MOOC platforms for students and professionals. Our partnership with them is part of our FY18 multi-channel publishing strategy enabling Autodesk to reach thousands of engineering and industrial design students at colleges and universities around the world. Students completing the CAD and Digital Manufacturing Specialization will have developed job-ready skills in CAD for a head start in their academic and professional careers. (The courses received a 5 out of 5 rating by Coursera beta users!)
Specialization description
Through this specialization, students learn the foundations of product innovation and digital manufacturing while developing technical skills within Autodesk Fusion 360. No prior experience is required.
The first two courses in the specialization, Intro to Digital Manufacturing with Fusion 360 and Fusion 360 integrated CAD/CAM/CAE, focus on an understanding of digital manufacturing, principles of sustainable design and manufacturing processes. A series of lectures explain and discuss how trends such as generative design, machine learning are influencing innovation and how things are made. From there, students are introduced to Fusion 360 as an integrated CAD/CAM solution with the focus being on developing software skills and design related vocabulary.
Courses 3 through 5 of the specialization will publish between December and January. In these final 3 courses of the specialization, students create a search and rescue drone inspired by the XVEIN drone designed by student makers Yuki Ogasawara and Ryo Kumeda. These project-based courses offer students the opportunity to apply their Fusion 360 skills and encourages them to explore new approaches to customizing their own drone design for manufacture.
Learners who complete the series of five courses will have progressed in their skills from Foundational (Tier 1) to General (Tier 2) to Specialized (Tier 3) within Fusion 360, while also preparing them for a career in manufacturing engineering.
